Security engineer, detection and response (US)

📋 Description

• • Join WRITER's security team as a staff detection and response engineer to protect the AI infrastructure transforming how the world works by building sophisticated detection systems that identify attacks targeting AI platforms, training data, and model deployments while creating automated response capabilities that scale with explosive growth.
• • Design and implement detection strategies for AI-specific threats including prompt injection, model extraction, data poisoning, and adversarial examples; build automated response playbooks and orchestration workflows; lead security incident response coordination across teams; hunt proactively for threats across GPU clusters and training infrastructure; build detection-as-code frameworks; collaborate cross-functionally as the operational security partner; and maintain 24/7 on-call rotation for critical AI security incidents.
• • Work with AI Security research, Cloud Infrastructure, Software Security Engineering, and AI researchers to build a defense-in-depth strategy protecting one of the most valuable AI platforms in the industry; translate threat intelligence into real-time detections and conduct forensic investigations on training pipeline attacks.
• • Develop expertise in securing cutting-edge AI/AGI systems against evolving adversaries; define what AI security engineering looks like at scale by building self-healing security systems that reduce mean time to response from hours to minutes while gaining hands-on experience with novel threats not found in textbooks.
