- • As a Senior 3D Environment Artist at thatgamecompany, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual and emotional landscape of an unannounced game, crafting immersive worlds that serve both narrative and gameplay while embodying the studio’s signature poetic and evocative style.
- • You will collaborate closely with the Art Director, Art Leads, Concept Artists, Technical Artists, and Designers to translate artistic vision into fully realized 3D environments, ensuring every asset contributes meaningfully to player experience and world-building.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include creating detailed landscapes using the studio’s proprietary terrain system, modeling and set-dressing environments to support story and mechanics, and establishing lighting, atmosphere, and environmental effects such as particles, god rays, fog, and bloom to evoke mood and depth.
- • You will work with technical artists to develop custom shaders that achieve unique visual styles, brainstorm and prototype environment concepts during early development phases, and assist the broader modeling team in producing cosmetic and level content across the project.
- • Additionally, you will support other departments with environment or modeling needs, contribute to iterative design processes through rapid prototyping, and help maintain artistic consistency and quality across all environment assets.

🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional experience working in the video game industry as a 3D Artist or Environment Artist
- • Proficiency in Maya or equivalent 3D modeling software for creating high-quality environments and assets
- • Strong artistic foundation in composition, lighting, color theory, and visual storytelling
- • Self-motivated, humble, and collaborative mindset with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- • Passion for creating unique, innovative, and emotionally resonant 3D looks that serve narrative and gameplay
