- • The Senior Accountant at Quartermaster plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy and operational integrity for a company that designs and deploys ocean-based sensor systems for maritime domain awareness. This position is essential to maintaining GAAP-compliant financial reporting while supporting the unique intersection of hardware manufacturing and recurring SaaS revenue models.
- • What the person will do day to day:
- • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations covering prepaids, accruals, work-in-progress (WIP), fixed assets, deferred revenue, and accounts payable/receivable to ensure accurate financial statements.
- • Review and process accounts payable invoices with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring proper cost allocation by individual sensor serial number for precise product-level profitability tracking.
- • Maintain and update SensorCosts, SensorMaster, WIP, and cohort tracking systems to support accurate inventory valuation and cost of goods sold calculations.
- • Process capitalization entries and calculate monthly depreciation for fixed assets and sensor hardware cohorts in compliance with ASC 360 and other relevant GAAP standards.
- • Manage end-to-end accounts payable workflows using Brex and Mercury platforms, including invoice approval, payment processing, and vendor reconciliation.
- • Support customer billing processes and revenue recognition efforts to ensure accuracy in subscription-based SaaS revenue streams tied to sensor data services.
- • Assist in the ongoing NetSuite migration initiative by validating data integrity, testing automated processes, and helping design scalable accounting workflows.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- • 3–6+ years of accounting experience
- • Strong GAAP knowledge (ASC 360, WIP, PPE, fixed assets)
- • Experience with hardware or IoT manufacturing preferred
- • Strong Excel/Sheets skills
- • Experience with QBO, NetSuite, Brex, Mercury a plus
