In this dynamic position, you will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our financial reporting, playing a critical part in the month-end and year-end closing processes, maintaining robust tax compliance, and providing essential support for external audits. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a growing, innovative company and make a tangible impact on our financial operations.
  • • As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will span a broad spectrum of general accounting functions. You will be tasked with the meticulous preparation and timely updating of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all accounts are accurately represented and variances are thoroughly investigated and explained. Your involvement in month-end and year-end closings will be crucial, encompassing the accurate recording of accruals, execution of cut-off procedures, and in-depth variance analysis to identify and address any discrepancies. This foundational work ensures the reliability of our financial statements.
  • • A significant focus of this role will be on Revenue Accounting. You will perform essential service and license revenue cut-off procedures, guaranteeing that revenue is recognized in strict accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards. This involves a detailed review and posting of all revenue-related entries, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining the integrity of our revenue streams and providing clear visibility into our financial performance.
  • • The Senior Accountant will also oversee Accounts Payable & Fixed Assets. This includes managing the complete lifecycle of our fixed assets, from acquisition and capitalization through to depreciation, disposals, and final reconciliation. A key responsibility will be conducting the annual physical inventory of fixed assets, meticulously comparing physical counts with accounting records to ensure absolute alignment and identify any discrepancies. This rigorous process safeguards our asset management and financial reporting.
  • • In the realm of Accounts Receivable & Banking, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive bank reconciliations, ensuring that all cash transactions are accurately recorded and accounted for. Furthermore, you will maintain precise cash forecasting, providing valuable insights into our liquidity position. The role also involves supporting intercompany transactions and reconciliations, ensuring seamless financial operations across different entities.
  • • Tax Compliance is another core area of your expertise. You will manage the end-to-end processes for US Sales Tax and Canadian VAT, including the accurate preparation and timely submission of all necessary tax declarations. This requires a strong understanding of both US and Canadian tax regulations. You will also coordinate closely with external CPA firms, providing them with the required documentation and information to ensure timely and accurate tax filings, thereby mitigating compliance risks.
  • • Your contribution to Audit & External Reporting will be invaluable. You will be responsible for preparing and providing comprehensive documentation and support for external audits, as well as responding to other third-party requests for financial information. This involves close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure that all compliance requirements are met and reporting deadlines are adhered to, maintaining our reputation for transparency and accuracy.
  • • A key aspect of this role is driving Continuous Improvement within the accounting department. You will be expected to proactively identify opportunities for process enhancements, implementing changes to boost efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness of our accounting operations. Your participation and support in cross-functional projects will further contribute to the company's strategic objectives and operational excellence. This role offers a unique chance to shape financial processes and contribute to the strategic growth of Valiantys.
