- • Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations specifically for payroll and benefits-related accounts
- • Partner closely with Payroll and HR teams to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of payroll data across systems
- • Review payroll reports against the general ledger and investigate discrepancies or unusual fluctuations using data-driven and AI-assisted approaches
- • Prepare and review benefits reconciliations across multiple platforms, identifying and resolving variances in 401(k), HSA, and other benefit accounts
- • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes focused on payroll and compensation-related financial reporting
- • Perform detailed flux and variance analysis on payroll and compensation expenses, leveraging AI tools and advanced analytics to detect trends and anomalies
- • Identify, propose, and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within payroll accounting, including the use of AI to streamline workflows and enhance accuracy
- • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over all payroll and benefits-related accounting processes to ensure audit readiness
- • Support broader accounting team responsibilities as needed, including prepaids and fixed asset accounting to balance workload demands
- • Ensure all accounting entries are properly documented with audit-ready support and comply with US GAAP standards
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, HR, and Payroll teams to align financial reporting with operational data and ensure consistency
- • Utilize ERP systems such as NetSuite and payroll platforms like ADP to execute accounting tasks with precision and efficiency
- • Apply sound judgment in responsibly using AI tools to amplify accounting accuracy, efficiency, and insight generation without compromising control or compliance
- • Maintain strict attention to detail when handling high-volume payroll data and benefit allocations across diverse employee populations
- • Adhere to tight month-end deadlines while managing multiple competing priorities independently
- • Stay current with evolving accounting practices and technology tools relevant to SaaS payroll and benefits accounting environments
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in compensation accounting or a similar role, ideally in a high-growth SaaS environment
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
- • Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite and payroll platforms like ADP
- • Experience managing complex benefit reconciliations via platforms like Fidelity and Navia
- • Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with large datasets; experience with AI-enabled tools is a plus
