- • The Senior Accountant role at Standard AI (operating as The Standard) is a critical position within the centralized investment accounting and reporting team, responsible for ensuring all investment activity is accurately captured in the general ledger and supporting financial integrity across the organization. This role directly contributes to the company’s mission of financial stability and operational excellence by enabling accurate internal, executive, regulatory, and board reporting, as well as the preparation of financial statements and statutory filings.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include performing month-end and quarter-end close activities such as preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and producing management and financial reports; owning and managing designated accounting areas with subject matter expertise to ensure accurate and timely transaction recording; supporting internal, executive, and regulatory reporting needs including board packages and statutory filings; participating in continuous process improvement initiatives, particularly around the ongoing accounting system upgrade aimed at automating manual processes and enhancing reporting efficiency and accuracy; and collaborating with cross-functional teams through meetings, training sessions, issue resolution, and operational support to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.

- • In this role, the Senior Accountant will deepen their expertise in investment accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance while gaining hands-on experience with system modernization efforts, including the implementation of new accounting platforms and automation tools. 🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree required in accounting or a related field
- • 2+ years of professional experience in accounting
- • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; Power BI experience preferred
- • CPA eligible required; CPA designation preferred
- • General investment or investment accounting experience preferred
- • Ability to work until 5PM PST is required; ability to travel onsite to Portland, OR 1-2 times per year is highly preferred
