📋 Description

• • Own the full-cycle monthly, quarterly, and annual close for a hyper-growth AI music company, ensuring every note of our financial data is pitch-perfect and audit-ready within tight deadlines.
• • Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries for revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, prepaid expenses, accruals, and inter-company transactions while maintaining a detailed audit trail that satisfies both internal stakeholders and Big-4 external auditors.
• • Perform meticulous balance-sheet reconciliations for cash, AR, AP, fixed assets, deferred revenue, and equity accounts, investigating variances down to the cent and presenting clear, concise explanations to leadership.
• • Partner with FP&A, Data Science, and Product teams to translate Suno’s unique SaaS and usage-based revenue streams into GAAP-compliant financial statements, building scalable models that flex with new subscription tiers and AI credit packs.
• • Design and implement process improvements that shave days off the close cycle—think automated flux analysis, streamlined cut-off procedures, and real-time dashboards—while tightening internal controls to SOX-level standards.
• • Serve as the primary liaison during quarterly reviews and annual audits, preparing PBC schedules, footnote support, and technical memos on topics such as ASC 606, ASC 718, and ASC 842 with minimal partner rework.
• • Evaluate and optimize our ERP and billing sub-ledger configurations (currently NetSuite + Stripe + custom AI credit engine) to reduce manual touchpoints and eliminate spreadsheet risk.
• • Build a robust fixed-asset and capitalization policy for our growing compute infrastructure and studio hardware, ensuring proper depreciation, impairment testing, and tax compliance.
• • Collaborate with Legal and People Ops to administer equity transactions, from option grants to 409A valuations, keeping cap-table accuracy at 100 % and supporting investor relations with timely metrics.
• • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis that powers strategic decisions—pricing experiments, international expansion, and new creator-marketplace features—turning raw data into actionable insights for the executive team.
• • Mentor junior accounting staff and cross-functional interns, fostering a culture of technical excellence, curiosity, and continuous learning in a company where music and math intersect.
• • Champion a “compliance-by-design” mindset across Suno, embedding accounting controls into product launches and marketing campaigns so that creativity never compromises accuracy.
• • Thrive in a fast-paced, in-office environment (five days a week in our San Francisco headquarters) where whiteboard sessions can turn into impromptu jam sessions and every close week ends with a team listening party celebrating another flawless finish.
