- • In this pivotal role as Senior Accountant, Asset Management, you will be instrumental in managing the financial operations for a portfolio of infrastructure assets spanning across Canada and the United States. Your responsibilities will encompass the meticulous oversight of daily accounting functions, including but not limited to, transaction accounting, the accurate posting of journal entries, efficient processing of invoices, and the diligent management of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). A critical aspect of your role will involve performing comprehensive account reconciliations to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our financial data.
- • You will be a key custodian of financial records, ensuring strict adherence to US GAAP, IFRS, and ASPE reporting standards. Your proactive approach will be vital in supporting and overseeing the accurate and timely maintenance of all financial records, providing a solid foundation for strategic decision-making. This position offers a unique opportunity for professional development, working closely with experienced staff accountants and Finance Managers. You will gain invaluable exposure to critical financial disciplines such as financial modeling and contract management, fostering your growth within the firm.
- • Key responsibilities will include the thorough oversight of record-keeping and general ledger maintenance. This involves meticulously reviewing the accuracy of sales invoices, incoming payments, and supplier statements to preempt any discrepancies and ensure data integrity from the source.
- • You will be responsible for preparing and posting monthly journal entries to the accounting system, with an unwavering focus on accuracy, compliance with relevant accounting standards, and performing detailed account reconciliations to guarantee the reliability of our financial data.
- • A significant part of your contribution will involve leading the month and quarter-end close processes. This includes the preparation of all necessary financial reports and statements, ensuring that all closing activities are conducted accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with project-specific requirements.
- • You will play a crucial role in preparing comprehensive year-end audit working papers. Furthermore, you will serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, facilitating a smooth and efficient audit process.
- • The role also entails compiling essential tax schedules and coordinating closely with external tax advisors. This collaboration is vital for the accurate preparation and timely filing of corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax regulations.
