- • The Senior Accountant, Mergers & Acquisitions role at Crete Professionals Alliance is a pivotal position within the Transaction Advisory / Financial Due Diligence team, where the individual will directly contribute to high-impact buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence projects for private equity clients, driving firm growth and client success through rigorous financial analysis and reporting.
- • This role offers significant responsibility and exposure to senior management of clients and acquisition targets across high-growth industries such as construction, real estate, manufacturing, franchise, professional services, trust and estate, and retail, positioning the accountant at the forefront of strategic financial advisory work.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in the execution of financial due diligence by analyzing detailed financial statements, preparing schedules and supporting analyses, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, participating in management and client meetings, preparing and analyzing financial statements, assisting in financial model and Excel databook preparation, gathering documents, reviewing data, preparing quality of earnings reports, conducting interviews with acquisition target personnel, analyzing historical financials to identify sustainable earnings, preparing reconciliations of financials, tax returns, and bank statements, researching accounting documents, interpreting and applying accounting policies, and demonstrating proactive curiosity to support continuous learning and insight development.
- • The individual will collaborate closely with firm partners, managers, and staff across Tax and Audit practice areas, as well as directly with clients, fostering cross-functional teamwork and professional growth in a dynamic, fast-paced environment managing multiple projects and deadlines.

- • In this role, the Senior Accountant will develop advanced expertise in financial due diligence, quality of earnings analysis, financial modeling, and M&A advisory processes, gaining hands-on experience with complex financial statements, tax return reconciliations, and industry trend analysis, while building client-facing communication skills and preparing for progression into senior advisory or leadership roles within the firm.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of experience in public accounting, specifically in tax, financial statement preparation, or auditing
- • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex modeling and data analysis
- • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting; CPA designation preferred
- • Proven ability to lead projects, manage multiple deadlines, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a typical 45–50 hour workweek
- • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members at all levels
- • Energetic, continuous learning attitude with a history of progression, growth, and team mentality
