- • In this pivotal role, reporting directly to the SVP, Finance, the Senior Accounting Manager will be instrumental in managing the critical monthly close process. A key responsibility will be to ensure that all closing timelines are meticulously maintained and met, contributing to the overall efficiency and accuracy of our financial reporting. This individual will also serve as the primary point of contact and coordinator for the Concur platform, our comprehensive expense management system, and will oversee the corporate credit card program, ensuring adherence to policies and efficient reconciliation.
- • Furthermore, the Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end oversight of the Accounts Payable (AP) function. This includes managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining strong internal controls within the AP process. A significant aspect of this role involves incorporating and diligently maintaining robust processes to ensure strict compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations, as well as meeting all external reporting requirements. This proactive approach to compliance is essential for maintaining the integrity and transparency of our financial operations.

You will be joining a critical function within a growing and evolving, multi-product candidate biotechnology company, playing a key role in shaping our financial future.
- • Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements; ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all accounting records; managing the Accounts Payable function, including vendor setup, invoice processing, and payment runs; administering the Concur expense management system and corporate credit card program; developing, implementing, and maintaining internal controls to ensure SOX compliance; assisting with the preparation of SEC filings and other external reporting requirements; supporting financial audits by external auditors; identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy; and mentoring and developing junior accounting staff as the team grows.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
- • Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX, and SEC reporting requirements.
- • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
