📋 Description

• Senior Accounts Officer role at Weekday 1, supporting a client’s Singapore-based accounting operations with full remote work from India; this position is critical for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Singapore regulatory standards, and mentoring junior team members in a high-trust, independent capacity.
• Oversee a portfolio of Singapore-based clients by managing complete sets of accounts, including month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciliations, consolidations, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with SFRS, ACRA, IRAS, MOM, CPF, and GST regulations.
• Evaluate, verify, and amend the work of junior accountants; identify discrepancies, document resolutions, and provide constructive feedback to improve accuracy and consistency across the team.
• Lead closing activities by preparing schedules, management reports, and financial statements; ensure timely delivery and adherence to strict deadlines aligned with Singapore business hours (7:30 AM–4:30 PM IST Mon–Fri, 7:30 AM–11:00 AM IST Sat).
• Identify process inefficiencies, recommend internal controls, and develop checklists to standardize workflows and reduce errors in reconciliation, classification, and reporting.
• Address backlog items, investigate misclassifications, and correct accounting errors while maintaining audit-ready documentation and clear completion notes for management review.
• Utilize advanced Excel/Google Sheets functions (pivots, lookups, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, error tracking templates) to streamline reconciliations, analyze intercompany transactions, and support consolidation tasks including eliminations and minority interest calculations.
• Communicate effectively in English with clients, stakeholders, and team members; maintain professionalism in written and verbal interactions during daily video check-ins and asynchronous collaboration.
• Receive comprehensive training in Singapore accounting practices and regulatory frameworks, enabling rapid onboarding and long-term capability building in international outsourcing accounting.
• Mentor and guide junior accountants through coaching, knowledge sharing, and performance oversight, fostering team development and operational excellence in a remote-first environment.
• Work within a structured remote schedule using tools like Supersee for HR compliance tracking, ensuring accountability and transparency while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote role based in India.
• Contribute to the reliability and integrity of financial data for Singapore-based clients, directly supporting their compliance, decision-making, and audit readiness through meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in outsourcing accounting, with essential exposure to Singapore accounting standards (SFRS), GST, CPF, IRAS, ACRA, and MOM compliance.
• Demonstrated experience in reviewing, verifying, and correcting the work of junior accountants, including documenting discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
• In-depth knowledge of month-end and year-end closing procedures, reconciliations, consolidations (including eliminations, intercompany transactions, and minority interest), and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel/Google Sheets functions such as pivots, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and reconciliation templates for error tracking and data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with ability to convey complex accounting issues clearly to stakeholders and management.
• Proactive, self-directed work ethic capable of managing independent workloads while meeting strict Singapore-aligned deadlines.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms is a good-to-have advantage.
