Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect and deliver production-grade AI and machine learning systems, including NLP, classification, regression, and computer vision models, for high-stakes Medicare Advantage workloads such as claims processing, risk adjustment, prior authorization, revenue integrity, and member engagement.
- • Lead end-to-end ownership of AI system design, deployment, and operations, establishing architectural standards for model selection, scalability, production readiness, monitoring, and drift detection across the team.
- • Design and scale enterprise-wide intelligent process automation using RPA platforms (e.g., UiPath, Power Automate) and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect), driving ROI analysis and setting engineering standards for fault-tolerant workflow design.
- • Own AI/ML data infrastructure strategy by designing and governing robust ETL and feature engineering pipelines that support model training, validation, and real-time inference at scale in a regulated, high-availability environment.
- • Integrate AI and automation systems into enterprise architecture via REST APIs and microservices, ensuring HIPAA compliance, security, and maintainability while driving adoption of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD best practices.
- • Architect and implement LLM-powered and agentic AI applications using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, and AutoGen, transforming workflows in clinical document intelligence, intelligent prior authorization, and member communication through prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and RAG pipelines.
- • Establish reliability standards for AI and automation systems by defining alerting, testing, and tuning frameworks that proactively detect performance degradation before impacting member outcomes, and lead post-incident reviews to build organizational resilience.
- • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through hands-on code reviews, design critiques, and paired problem-solving, while contributing to hiring, technical interviews, and the establishment of team-wide engineering standards including responsible AI practices such as bias detection and model explainability.
- • Function as a senior individual contributor and informal technical lead with no formal direct reports, guiding the technical direction of project teams and elevating engineering practices across the Data & Technology Solutions team.
- • Apply deep expertise in healthcare data standards including HL7 FHIR, ICD-10/CPT codes, and DICOM to production AI systems, ensuring alignment with regulatory and operational requirements in a Medicare Advantage or managed care environment.
- • Embed responsible AI governance into workflows by implementing ethical AI frameworks such as SHAP and LIME for model explainability, and ensuring AI outputs that influence clinical care and financial decisions are transparent, auditable, and fair.
- • Maintain advanced proficiency in Python and ML frameworks including PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, and Hugging Face Transformers, with expert-level experience in cloud AI platforms such as AWS SageMaker, Azure AI, or Google Vertex AI.
- • Design and govern MLOps tooling including MLflow, Kubeflow, or equivalent, and ensure seamless integration of vector databases and multi-agent orchestration systems into production AI pipelines.
- • Drive innovation in intelligent automation and AI systems by identifying high-ROI opportunities across clinical and operational workflows, translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5–8 years of professional experience in software engineering with a demonstrated, progressive focus on AI/ML, data science, or intelligent process automation
- • Proven track record of independently owning and delivering complex, production-grade AI/ML systems from design through deployment and ongoing operations
- • Demonstrated experience with the full AI/ML model lifecycle at scale: data architecture, model design, training, validation, deployment, monitoring, and retraining
- • Experience in a regulated industry (healthcare, insurance, or financial services) with deep working knowledge of compliance and security requirements in production AI environments
- • Experience architecting and scaling automation solutions using RPA platforms and workflow orchestration tools, including cross-functional stakeholder engagement and ROI governance
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field; equivalent combination of education and demonstrated senior-level hands-on experience will be considered
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive pay range of $172,364.00 - $258,547.00 based on market location, education, responsibilities, and experience
- • Opportunity to work on mission-critical AI systems that directly improve care quality and save lives for seniors and chronically ill patients
- • Remote work flexibility with location anywhere in the U.S.
- • Exposure to cutting-edge AI technologies including LLMs, agentic AI, RAG pipelines, and multi-agent frameworks in a high-impact healthcare setting
- • Professional growth through mentorship, technical leadership, and contribution to engineering standards in a fast-growing organization
- • Access to advanced training and certifications in MLOps, cloud AI platforms, responsible AI, and RPA platforms
