📋 Description

• Senior AI Engineer role focused on building production-ready AI systems that transform Voice of Customer data into actionable insights for Allica Bank, a UK-based fintech serving underserved established SMEs.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, deploying, and monitoring LLM-powered tools and agents using Python, working with embeddings, vector databases, RAG, and semantic search over large volumes of unstructured text from customer calls, conversations, and emails.
• Allica Bank is the UK’s fastest-growing fintech, dedicated to serving established SMEs — a critical but overlooked segment of the economy — with a mission-driven culture and direct reporting to the CTO.
• The role offers significant autonomy to shape AI initiatives from concept to production in a regulated banking environment, enabling the engineer to develop expertise in responsible AI deployment, model evaluation, and end-to-end system delivery while contributing to meaningful financial inclusion.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with deep proficiency in Python
• Experience building and shipping LLM-powered tools or agents into production using OpenAI, Anthropic's Claude, or open-source models
• Hands-on experience with embeddings, vector databases, RAG, and semantic search over large volumes of unstructured text
• Comfortable deploying, versioning, and monitoring models in production
• Experience with large-scale data platforms or cloud warehouses (e.g., BigQuery) to build and run AI pipelines
• Ability to evaluate models rigorously for quality, accuracy, fairness, privacy, bias, and safety in regulated settings
