📋 Description

• Design, build, and ship AI agent applications and agent harnesses that answer business questions accurately over governed data.
• Build core agent capabilities including retrieval-augmented generation, natural-language-to-query, and tool or function calling.
• Improve AI output quality through prompt and context engineering, evaluation benchmarks, guardrails, and ongoing quality measurement.
• Partner on governed metrics, data models, and data pipelines to ensure agents reason over consistent, reliable, and secure business data.
• Apply strong data governance and security practices, including safe handling of sensitive data, to meet financial-services standards.
• Contribute strong engineering judgment to technical design and review, and help raise the technical bar across the team.
• Own meaningful problems end-to-end, turning ambiguous business or product needs into clear technical solutions.
• Work within a team focused on building a world-class, customer-facing analytics product that turns data into business impact through AI.
• Deploy agentic AI applications in production environments with a focus on accuracy, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate across engineering and data teams to align AI systems with enterprise data infrastructure and security requirements.
• Ensure all AI systems comply with financial-services regulatory and compliance standards regarding data access, isolation, and auditability.
• Implement and maintain semantic layers or metrics layers to support consistent business intelligence across AI-driven insights.
• Utilize Python, SQL, and software engineering best practices to develop and optimize data-driven AI applications.
• Evaluate and integrate modern cloud data platforms and transformation frameworks such as Databricks, Spark, and dbt into AI workflows.
• Contribute to the development of batch or streaming data pipelines using Kafka, Flink, or change-data-capture tooling where applicable.
• Support the delivery of low-latency analytics capabilities, including technologies like ClickHouse, to enable real-time business decision-making.
• Build secure, customer-facing, or multi-tenant products with robust access control and data isolation mechanisms.
• Operate within a fast-paced, high-impact environment focused on global payments and financial infrastructure for over 200,000 businesses.
• Align technical work with Airwallex’s operating principles: founder-like energy, ownership, speed with rigor, curiosity, and collaboration.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience building production software, including AI applications, data pipelines, and data models.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying agentic AI applications in production.
• Experience improving AI system accuracy and reliability through evaluation, guardrails, or quality measurement.
• Strong Python, SQL, software engineering, and data modeling fundamentals.
• Track record of shipping reliable AI or data products and turning ambiguous business or product needs into clear technical solutions.
