- • As a Senior AI Software Engineer on Lyft's Risk Tech team, you will define and drive the technical roadmap for claims management systems, aligning priorities with Product, Claim Operations, Data Science, and other stakeholders to build a unified risk platform that enhances safety, affordability, and operational efficiency.
- • Day to day, you will provide architectural leadership, make informed design tradeoffs, guide strategic decisions across engineering teams, deliver scalable and reliable solutions, lead code and design reviews, participate in on-call support, and collaborate with internal teams and external insurance partners to ensure seamless integrations.
- • You will join a mission-driven engineering organization focused on reducing accident frequency, saving lives, and managing costs through intelligent automation and data-driven insights in insurance claims workflows.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, AI adoption, and platform engineering while influencing cross-functional initiatives and contributing to knowledge sharing through tech talks, brown bags, and process improvements.
🎯 Requirements
- • B.S., M.S. in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent work experience
- • 6+ years of professional experience building scalable distributed systems with high availability, observability, and reliability requirements
- • Proficiency in Python; experience with data processing frameworks like Spark, Kafka, Airflow and cloud provisioning environments
- • Experience driving AI adoption or automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency
- • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate across backend, frontend, data engineering, data science, claim operations, and product teams
- • Prior experience in insurance, claims management, workflow orchestration, or external vendors is a strong plus
