- • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Developer Platforms team at The New York Times, you will design and build GenAI-augmented developer experiences and platform capabilities used across all of NYT Product Engineering, enabling 100+ teams and 750+ engineers to ship software faster and more safely.
- • Your day-to-day work includes designing and building GenAI-powered developer tooling such as prompts, IDE integrations, and Cursor/Claude rules; constructing and operating the GenAI developer platform using LiteLLM for LLM routing and agent orchestration; establishing guardrails and observability for agentic workflows via integrations with Datadog, DX, and FinOut; collaborating with engineers across Product Engineering to understand their workflows and tailor solutions; and upholding journalistic independence and ethical AI use in alignment with NYT’s mission.
- • You will join the DevEx Platforms team, a group of 6 engineers focused on developer experience and workflow automation within the broader Developer Platforms organization, which provides internal cloud infrastructure and tooling to support NYT’s product engineering at scale.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in AI-assisted software development, cloud-native systems, and platform engineering while contributing to measurable improvements in developer productivity, code quality, and technical debt reduction through structured migrations and reusable AI agents.
