Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Join Spotify, a global leader in audio streaming, as a Senior Analyst in our ITP EMEA Accounting team, based in our vibrant Stockholm office. This permanent role is a unique chance to significantly expand your global accounting expertise and make a tangible impact on our daily operations within a dynamic, fast-paced, and international environment.
- • As a key member of the EMEA Accounting team, you will be instrumental in managing the end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) operations for the entire EMEA region. This is a critical function that ensures the smooth financial functioning of our European, Middle Eastern, and African operations, directly impacting our relationships with a diverse range of global vendors.
- • Your responsibilities will encompass the meticulous processing of invoices, from initial receipt and validation to ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained. You will be the gatekeeper for financial accuracy, verifying that all submitted invoices align with contractual agreements, purchase orders, and company policies, thereby mitigating financial risks and ensuring compliance.
- • A core part of your role will involve the timely and accurate execution of payments to our worldwide network of vendors. This requires a deep understanding of various payment methods, international banking procedures, and currency exchange considerations to ensure vendors are paid promptly and efficiently, maintaining strong supplier relationships.
- • You will play an active and crucial role in our month-end close activities. This involves preparing and posting necessary accruals, reconciling AP sub-ledgers to the general ledger, and investigating any discrepancies to ensure the financial statements accurately reflect the company's financial position for the period.
- • Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve obstacles that may arise within the AP process. This could range from invoice discrepancies and vendor queries to system issues, requiring you to collaborate with internal teams (Procurement, Legal, Tax) and external vendors to find swift and effective solutions.
- • Serve as a primary point of contact for both internal business stakeholders and external vendors regarding AP-related inquiries. Your ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and efficiently will be vital in fostering positive relationships and ensuring a seamless flow of information.
- • Contribute to the continuous improvement of AP processes and systems. You will be encouraged to identify inefficiencies, propose innovative solutions, and participate in the implementation of new tools or process enhancements to streamline operations, increase accuracy, and reduce costs.
- • Support the broader finance team with ad-hoc reporting and analysis related to AP spend, vendor performance, and other relevant financial metrics. This will provide valuable insights to inform strategic decision-making across the organization.
- • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements across the EMEA region. You will be expected to maintain a strong understanding of these requirements and apply them diligently in your daily work.
- • Collaborate closely with other members of the global ITP (Information Technology & Procurement) Accounting team, sharing best practices and contributing to a cohesive and high-performing global accounting function.
- • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Legal, Tax, Treasury, and local finance teams across EMEA, to ensure alignment and efficient resolution of issues.
- • Gain exposure to various financial systems and technologies used by Spotify, contributing to their effective utilization and potential upgrades.
- • This role offers a fantastic platform for professional growth, providing opportunities to learn about different business units within Spotify and how AP impacts their operations. You will be an integral part of a supportive and collaborative team environment where your contributions are valued and recognized.
- • By ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our Accounts Payable processes, you will directly contribute to Spotify's ability to operate smoothly, maintain strong vendor partnerships, and support our mission to unlock the potential of human creativity.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in Accounts Payable, preferably within a multinational corporation or a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- • Strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly as they relate to Accounts Payable processes and month-end close activities.
- • Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal stakeholders and external vendors at various levels.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus opportunities.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday schedule.
- • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning, including access to training and conferences.
- • A vibrant and inclusive company culture with regular team events and social activities.
