đź“‹ Description

  • • Join Camunda, a global leader in enterprise agentic automation, as a Senior AP Accountant and play a pivotal role in strengthening our Accounts Payable (AP) operations and key aspects of our Travel and Expense (T&E) processes. This is a fully remote position within a supportive, distributed Finance team that thrives on focus, integrity, ambition, talent, and a healthy dose of humor. You will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of our Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle, contributing directly to our rapid growth and operational excellence.
  • • As the Senior AP Accountant, you will take ownership of the end-to-end AP lifecycle. This includes managing invoice intake, meticulous coding and matching against purchase orders, proactive issue resolution with internal stakeholders and vendors, executing timely payment runs, and performing accurate reconciliations. Your diligence will ensure that our financial operations are robust and audit-ready, maintaining the highest standards of compliance and financial integrity across all entities.
  • • You will also co-own the critical Travel and Expense operations, working closely with the AP team to manage our Brex corporate card program and employee reimbursements. This involves vigilant compliance enforcement, ensuring all expenses adhere to company policy, and effectively handling any exceptions. A key part of this responsibility will be user enablement, providing clear guidance and support to employees on T&E policies and procedures, thereby fostering a culture of compliance and efficiency. Your efforts will directly contribute to month-end close readiness and the overall smooth functioning of our T&E system.
  • • Maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our vendor master data is paramount. You will be responsible for vendor onboarding processes, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and verified. Furthermore, you will manage vendor record updates, implementing stringent controls, especially for sensitive changes such as banking details, to prevent fraud and maintain data security. This meticulous approach to data management is crucial for our scalable growth in a remote-first environment.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves driving continuous improvement within our Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes. You will actively participate in designing, documenting, and refining workflows to reduce friction, enhance data quality, and support our expanding global operations. By identifying bottlenecks and proposing practical solutions, you will help build a more efficient and scalable P2P ecosystem, leveraging technology and best practices.
  • • You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing essential AP-related month-end close activities. This includes performing detailed reconciliations, preparing accurate accruals, analyzing aging reports, and compiling supporting schedules. Close collaboration with the broader Accounting team will be vital to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, adhering to IFRS standards.
  • • Improving and meticulously documenting our processes and internal controls within systems like Zip and Brex is a core responsibility. You will create clear, concise guidance for all stakeholders, ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures. Additionally, you will be the go-to person for supporting audit requests, providing complete and well-organized evidence to external auditors, demonstrating our commitment to transparency and compliance.

  • • Your ability to adapt and potentially utilize our product, Camunda, will be an asset, demonstrating a commitment to understanding the core of our business. This role is ideal for an experienced AP professional who is proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to process improvements in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environment. You will have the autonomy to own your work while collaborating closely with a global team, making this a rewarding and impactful career opportunity.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of hands-on Accounts Payable experience, including direct ownership of invoice processing, vendor management, and payment runs in a fast-paced environment.
  • • Proven experience with AP month-end close activities such as reconciliations, accrual support, cut-off procedures, and aging management, preferably within an IFRS reporting framework.
  • • Strong understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and internal controls, with a demonstrated ability to identify control gaps, propose practical improvements, and implement changes.
  • • Practical experience managing or co-managing a corporate card and reimbursements process (e.g., Brex or similar), including policy enforcement, receipt compliance, and exception handling.
  • • Excellent English communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in a distributed, multicultural team and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • • Nice-to-have: Experience in a SaaS or high-growth tech company with multiple legal entities and international operations.
