- • As the Senior Application Database Engineer at Heidi Health, you will be the dedicated owner of our database infrastructure as we scale globally, ensuring our AI Care Partner platform remains reliable, performant, and secure for clinicians and patients worldwide.
- • You will own MongoDB Atlas cluster configuration and management across production, staging, and development environments spanning multiple regions globally across AWS and Azure, lead schema and data model design, optimize query performance and aggregation pipelines, evaluate and plan database technology decisions including when to use MongoDB versus relational stores like Amazon RDS, design and execute data migrations using Python tooling, manage all Atlas infrastructure through Terraform, design and maintain OIDC authentication and workforce identity federation, own database user management and access control policies, detect and remediate infrastructure state drift, monitor performance and drive optimizations, partner with backend engineers on schema and indexing strategies, and establish runbooks for operational tasks including failover, scaling, and incident response.
- • Heidi Health is a fast-growing healthtech startup backed by nearly $100 million in funding, building an AI Care Partner that works alongside clinicians to restore continuity and humanity to healthcare. Our team of doctors, engineers, designers, researchers, and creatives has already given back over 18 million hours to healthcare professionals, supporting 73 million patient visits across 116 countries, with more than two million visits powered by Heidi each week. We partner with leading health systems including the NHS, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and Monash Health, and are expanding across the US, UK, Canada, and Europe.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in modern database architecture across NoSQL and relational systems, gain hands-on experience with multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure), become proficient in Terraform-driven database management and OIDC federation, lead critical data migration initiatives, and contribute directly to a platform improving global healthcare outcomes — all while working in a high-autonomy, mission-driven environment that values ownership, reliability, and continuous improvement.
