- • As a Senior Application Development Lead at Ryder System, Inc., you will serve as a senior technical expert specializing in legacy and enterprise imaging systems unique to the transportation and logistics industry, providing critical expertise that is not readily available in the broader IT market and directly supporting Ryder’s operational efficiency and digital transformation initiatives.
- • You will lead the analysis, design, development, and enhancement of complex business software and web applications, including FMS Contracts Imaging, Trip Records Imaging, Intellectus Imaging Workflow, and other Ryder-specific systems, ensuring alignment with both short-term project goals and long-term IT and business strategies.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include providing technical leadership on project teams, diagnosing and resolving application issues, developing enterprise-wide integrated solutions using SQL, Oracle, and DB2 databases, and creating programming standards, architectures, and code reuse practices that elevate development quality across the organization.
- • You will act as a subject matter expert in Imaging Middleware Scan Software, Business Process Management (BPM) software, and transactional imaging applications, guiding cross-functional teams through development best practices, design patterns, UI standards, and testing methodologies while mentoring junior developers and advocating for process improvements.
- • You will collaborate with auditing, compliance, and business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for large, multi-functional projects, conduct feasibility studies, identify integration conflicts, and recommend solutions that balance technical feasibility with business impact, all while ensuring resource time tracking and documentation compliance.
- • You will research emerging technologies to drive innovation in application development, evaluate software solutions for management recommendation, oversee team deliverables for on-time product delivery, and serve as an internal consultant and change agent fostering adoption of efficient development practices across departments.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent work experience; Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
- • Eight (8) or more years of in-depth experience in imaging, middleware, enterprise content management, transactional imaging technologies, and tools, including imaging controls.
- • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming, application development methodologies, software architecture, distributed systems, and integration with SQL, Oracle, and DB2 databases, along with hands-on experience in client/server, mainframe, or internet-based computing environments.
