- • Own and improve production AI systems by designing, deploying, and optimizing AI/ML solutions that support critical business workflows and operational decision-making in healthcare reimbursement.
- • Build AI-powered workflow platforms using generative AI models, agent frameworks, orchestration systems, and decisioning engines to automate complex administrative processes.
- • Design and implement robust evaluation methodologies, testing strategies, and measurement systems to improve model quality, workflow performance, and measurable business outcomes.
- • Translate ambiguous business requirements from product, operations, and engineering teams into scalable, production-ready AI systems with clearly defined success metrics.
- • Optimize prompts, retrieval strategies, agent behavior, and system-level workflows through continuous experimentation, feedback loops, and performance tuning.
- • Drive engineering excellence by contributing to architecture, testing, observability, deployment safety, and operational reliability of AI-powered systems in production.
- • Accelerate organization-wide AI adoption by leveraging AI tools and best practices to improve team productivity and establish scalable, AI-native ways of working.
- • Work at the intersection of software engineering, machine learning, and operational workflows to transform high-impact but administratively heavy healthcare reimbursement processes into efficient, automated systems.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure AI systems are aligned with real-world operational constraints, regulatory environments, and provider needs in the healthcare reimbursement landscape.
- • Ensure all AI systems are production-ready, measurable, and directly tied to business outcomes such as claim recovery rates, administrative cost reduction, and provider satisfaction.
- • Maintain and enhance systems that handle document understanding, independent dispute resolution (IDR) workflows, and reimbursement decisioning using real-world healthcare data.
- • Contribute to the development of AI systems that reduce administrative burden on healthcare providers while increasing accuracy and speed of reimbursement disputes.
- • Participate in defining the technical roadmap for AI capabilities at Pivotal Health, ensuring alignment with strategic goals to make healthcare reimbursement fairer and more transparent.
- • Balance technical rigor with business impact by prioritizing solutions that deliver tangible value to providers, payers, and internal stakeholders.
- • Maintain high standards for system reliability, scalability, and maintainability in environments handling sensitive healthcare data and high-stakes financial outcomes.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5–8+ years of experience building software systems in production environments, with a strong track record of owning and delivering complex technical solutions.
- • Experience building and operating applied AI, LLM, agentic, or decisioning systems in production environments.
- • Experience designing experiments, evaluation frameworks, optimization loops, or performance measurement systems.
- • Strong software engineering background with Python and backend systems supporting production-scale AI applications.
- • Proven ability to translate complex operational requirements and real-world data into reliable, shipped products.
- • Experience working within healthcare or similarly complex operational domains.
