  • • As a Senior Applied Scientist on the Applied Reasoning team, you will be instrumental in advancing the depth, quality, and domain intelligence of Zillow's AI agents.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-value agentic capabilities that demand multi-step reasoning, structured information synthesis, and reliable tool-grounded execution.
  • • You will play a key part in ensuring these agents operate effectively and ethically within live customer experiences, aiming to equip Zillow's AI with the reasoning, planning, and acting capabilities of top real estate professionals.
  • • You will take a hands-on approach to researching, prototyping, evaluating, and deploying advanced LLM-powered reasoning systems specifically tailored for the complexities of the real estate domain.
  • • Your work will directly contribute to developing agents capable of deep, multi-step reasoning, accurate utilization of tools and skills, and context-aware decision-making.
  • • A significant focus will be on eliciting advanced reasoning and robust information synthesis from Large Language Models (LLMs) through innovative test-time scaling and targeted post-training techniques.
  • • You will be responsible for defining and refining rigorous evaluation frameworks to enhance the reliability, accuracy, and overall quality of agent responses in real-world real estate scenarios.
  • • Design, prototype, and build sophisticated agentic systems engineered for highly autonomous, context-aware, and adaptive interactions across a wide spectrum of real estate use cases.
  • • Apply state-of-the-art test-time scaling and post-training methodologies to cultivate agents that can effectively reason, collaborate, compete, or negotiate within dynamic, goal-driven environments to precisely fulfill user needs.
  • • Define, implement, and continuously refine comprehensive evaluation and experimentation processes specifically designed for LLM-driven applications, ensuring measurable progress and performance.
  • • Actively stay at the forefront of agentic AI research and emerging technological innovations, proactively integrating novel techniques into practical applications to significantly influence and shape future product direction.
  • • Contribute meaningfully to the broader scientific community by authoring high-impact publications, presenting at leading conferences, and actively participating in internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of excellence in applied research, scalable agentic architecture design, and the responsible development of AI systems.
