- • Design and modify database structures to ensure optimal performance for both transactional integrity and analytical reporting across AWS MySQL, Azure TSQL, and Databricks AnsiSQL environments
- • Perform advanced database maintenance including backups, restores, statistics updates, index optimization, and performance tuning to sustain system reliability
- • Proactively monitor and optimize database performance across multi-cloud platforms to meet business-critical SLAs
- • Design, implement, and manage Master Data Management (MDM) solutions to ensure data consistency and accuracy across enterprise systems
- • Collaborate with data engineers to map production data to data warehouse solutions in alignment with MDM standards
- • Develop and maintain comprehensive Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), system flow documents, and technical specifications for leadership and cross-functional teams
- • Ensure system security and data integrity across all database environments through rigorous governance and compliance practices
- • Partner with systems engineers to optimize AWS hardware and storage subsystems for database performance and scalability
- • Develop, manage, and maintain robust disaster recovery and high availability plans to minimize downtime and data loss
- • Work closely with Infosec and Security teams to enforce data compliance, retention policies, and security protocols
- • Participate in data architectural design reviews with Technology and Data teams to align database strategies with enterprise goals
- • Mentor and coach junior team members on database best practices, SQL optimization, and cloud-native database architecture
- • Translate complex data models into clear, compelling presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- • Communicate fluently across technology and data domains to bridge gaps between engineering, analytics, and business teams
- • Navigate complex, politically sensitive conversations to influence positive change without escalation
- • Maintain a collaborative mindset focused on mentoring, team development, and cross-functional alignment
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- • 6+ years of hands-on SQL coding experience across AWS MySQL, Azure TSQL, and Databricks AnsiSQL
- • 6+ years of experience in data modeling, ERD design, and database tuning for production write performance and reporting/auditing integrity
- • Proven experience supporting data systems in both Technology and Data team environments
- • Strong AWS cloud platform knowledge
- • Advanced expertise in data modeling, ERD creation, and performance optimization balancing write speed and relational integrity
