📋 Description

• As a Senior Back End Developer at Mend.io, you will design and build the heavy-duty backend systems that power the company’s AI Native AppSec Platform, which secures software from open source and custom code to AI-generated components for global enterprises.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include leading the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems using Java and Spring, optimizing performance in cloud-native environments, managing complex databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), implementing multi-system integrations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, participating in rigorous code reviews, and staying current with emerging technologies to drive innovation.
• Mend.io is a leader in application security, redefining how organizations secure software in the era of AI-driven development through intelligent automation, deep risk visibility, and developer-first experiences, while fostering a collaborative, empowering workplace where learning and flexibility are valued.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in backend architecture, cloud-native systems, and complex integrations, gain hands-on experience with modern DevOps and security practices, and contribute to cutting-edge AI-powered application security solutions that impact global enterprises.

🎯 Requirements

• 5 years of professional experience in back-end software development
• Advanced, deep-seated experience with Java and Spring development
• Proven experience working with queue infrastructure e.g. Kafka/Rabbit, Kubernetes, and AWS
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, including complex query optimization and schema design
• Demonstrated ability to work on complex, multi-integrated systems with frequent context switching
• Strong analytical skills and proven ability to solve intricate technical challenges
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross-team collaboration
• Familiarity with containerization and microservices architecture
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (preferred)
• Understanding of security best practices in software development (preferred)
