- • Lead the end-to-end rewriting of legacy Python-based microservices, data pipelines, and cryptographic APIs into production-grade, idiomatic Rust to enhance performance, security, and scalability.
- • Profile and analyze existing Python codebases to identify CPU, memory, and I/O bottlenecks, then redesign and reimplement components using Rust’s zero-cost abstractions to achieve ultra-low latency and high throughput.
- • Design and implement secure, memory-safe Rust modules that strictly comply with Zero-Trust architecture principles and FIPS-validated cryptographic standards for government and enterprise data protection.
- • Champion Rust development best practices across the engineering team, including rigorous error handling, comprehensive unit and integration testing, and automated CI/CD linting pipelines to enforce code quality and safety.
- • Collaborate with security and cryptography specialists to ensure all rewritten APIs meet federal compliance requirements and are resilient against AI-driven and advanced cyber threats.
- • Architect and optimize scalable, distributed systems using asynchronous Rust (Tokio ecosystem), with a focus on high-availability RESTful and gRPC APIs serving sensitive government and enterprise workloads.
- • Integrate Rust services with containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring seamless deployment, monitoring, and scaling in cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- • Participate in cross-functional architecture reviews and system design sessions to align technical implementation with broader platform goals and security mandates.
- • Ensure all code transitions maintain data integrity, operational continuity, and cryptographic accuracy during migration from Python to Rust without service disruption.
- • Automate testing and validation workflows for cryptographic operations to guarantee correctness under adversarial conditions and compliance with industry standards.
- • Mentor junior engineers on Rust patterns, memory safety, and performance optimization techniques through code reviews and technical guidance.
- • Maintain documentation for migrated APIs, including performance benchmarks, security assumptions, and integration protocols for audit and onboarding purposes.
- • Work autonomously on high-impact projects with U.S.-based clients in the cybersecurity and compliance space, delivering mission-critical infrastructure used by federal agencies and Fortune 500 enterprises.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of professional experience building, deploying, and maintaining high-performance backend applications or APIs in Rust.
- • Deep familiarity with Rust best practices, including asynchronous programming (e.g., Tokio ecosystem), advanced trait design, and safe concurrency.
- • Strong competency in Python, with the ability to read, profile, and reverse-engineer existing complex codebases seamlessly.
- • A proven track record of designing scalable, resilient distributed systems and low-latency RESTful or gRPC APIs.
- • Practical experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and deploying high-availability services in cloud environments (such as AWS or GCP).
