📋 Description

• Senior Backend Engineer role focused on designing and operating integration services using Ballerina to connect AI agents with enterprise ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include building resilient, concurrent services in Ballerina, modeling enterprise data flows, operating services in Kubernetes/Docker environments, defining engineering standards, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with AI and product teams.
• BLP Digital is a fast-growing SaaS scaleup spun out of ETH Zurich and HSG, backed by Goldman Sachs Alternatives, with live solutions in 40+ countries serving 20,000+ daily active users and automating 70,000+ processes daily for Fortune 500 clients.
• The role offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in Ballerina and distributed systems, shape integration architecture for AI-driven ERP automation, mentor peers, and contribute to a mission-critical platform used by global enterprises.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of professional backend engineering experience, with at least 1 year of production experience writing and operating Ballerina services
• Deep working knowledge of the Ballerina language: services and listeners, structural and union types, error handling, workers and strands, async patterns, and the Ballerina module system
• Experience building integrations with enterprise systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, REST/SOAP APIs, message brokers, or comparable)
• Strong command of functional programming concepts (immutability, pure functions, algebraic types) and ability to apply them in Ballerina or comparable languages
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and network protocols (HTTP, gRPC, messaging)
