- • Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir) role focused on building tools, APIs, and integrations for Remote’s HR and Payroll products, enabling global employment compliance and supporting businesses to recruit, pay, and manage international teams.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include leading major team-scoped projects, participating in cross-team initiatives, providing technical feedback on product improvements, maintaining domain understanding, conducting code reviews, contributing to the shared codebase, debugging technical and business issues, mentoring other engineers, proposing and implementing agentic workflows, and building reusable primitives for autonomous agent execution.

🎯 Requirements
- • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable
- • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows and improving them through iteration
- • Ability to think in systems: define specs clearly, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality
- • Experience with Postgres (or similar)
- • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar)
- • Nice to have: Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Nextjs, React/Vue/Angular
