- • Own the critical path of the Central Limit Order Book (CLOB) engine, optimizing matching and orderbook hot paths to improve latency, throughput, and async flow using production-grade benchmarks and evidence.
- • Reduce lock contention in high-concurrency orderbook systems without compromising correctness, designing safer queueing mechanisms and backpressure controls to handle increased market and order volume with lower tail latency.
- • Instrument exchange systems with production-grade observability tools including pprof, custom metrics, structured logs, and distributed traces to enable faster detection, diagnosis, and resolution of production incidents.
- • Establish rollback guarantees and narrow critical paths to minimize blast radius during failures, ensuring system resilience under high-load and abnormal transaction patterns.
- • Reason about settlement risk by understanding how on-chain transaction effects—such as confirmations, reorgs, balance updates, approvals, and execution outcomes—impact off-chain exchange state and design systems to handle edge cases like crossed books, ghost fills, stale orders, and cancel inconsistencies.
- • Optimize Go runtime performance by reducing garbage collection pressure, minimizing memory allocations, and tuning CPU usage to meet the demands of a high-throughput exchange processing billions in daily trading volume.
- • Debug and resolve production incidents end-to-end related to latency, correctness, and settlement-state inconsistencies, driving improvements that leave the system measurably more robust after each incident.
- • Evolve the CLOB engine to support increased concurrency, higher market density, and faster order processing while maintaining atomicity and consistency across off-chain state and on-chain settlement layers.
- • Collaborate with DeFi Trading team members to integrate exchange systems with blockchain settlement layers, ensuring accurate and timely reflection of on-chain transactions in the off-chain orderbook.
- • Build and maintain scalable backend services using Go and Rust that interface with EVM-based blockchain networks, handling real-time order flow, trade execution, and state synchronization under extreme throughput.
- • Design and implement systems that safely manage state transitions under network partitions, reorgs, and delayed confirmations, ensuring no mismatch between on-chain settlement outcomes and off-chain user balances.
- • Continuously improve system safety and reliability by profiling hot paths, analyzing production metrics, and implementing data-driven optimizations that directly impact user experience and platform integrity.
- • Partner with infrastructure and DevOps teams to ensure backend services are deployed, monitored, and scaled effectively in AWS environments using Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- • Maintain a deep focus on system correctness over speed, prioritizing robustness and auditability in all changes to exchange logic that directly affect user funds and market integrity.
- • Contribute to technical design reviews and code ownership of core exchange components, mentoring junior engineers and elevating team standards for performance, reliability, and security.

- • Production experience building low-latency backend systems at scale
