- • As a Senior Backend Engineer specializing in Golang, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling the core systems that power Emma’s global e-commerce and sleep technology platform, directly contributing to the company’s mission of improving sleep quality for millions worldwide.
- • Day to day, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Go, optimize APIs and databases for scalability and reliability, collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features, mentor junior engineers, and ensure system observability and resilience in a cloud-native environment.
- • Emma Matratzen GmbH is the world’s largest direct-to-consumer sleep brand, operating in over 35 markets with a strong engineering culture rooted in ownership, innovation, and continuous learning. - • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in Go-based backend architecture, gain experience scaling systems for global D2C commerce, lead technical initiatives that influence product direction, and grow into a technical leader within a fast-moving, mission-driven organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • Expert proficiency in Go (Golang) with proven experience building production-grade backend systems
- • Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redis) and API design (REST/GraphQL)
- • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- • Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and observability (logging, monitoring, tracing)
- • Ability to write clean, testable code and advocate for engineering best practices
- • Fluency in English; German is a nice-to-have
