- • Design and develop backend services within a microservices ecosystem using C# and .NET 8+ to support a cannabis retail platform with e-commerce, order management, and customer engagement features.
- • Build, maintain, and improve APIs used by internal teams and external customers, including the Public API platform expansion initiatives.
- • Refactor and optimize existing services, particularly cart, checkout, and order lifecycle components, to enhance performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- • Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making to evolve monolithic systems into independent microservices and transition synchronous communication to asynchronous patterns.
- • Improve system observability and metrics using Grafana and implement better monitoring practices to reduce production incidents and improve debugging efficiency.
- • Optimize caching strategies using Redis to resolve cache-related issues and reduce latency across critical customer journeys such as checkout and order status updates.
- • Collaborate with engineers across multiple product teams, including other e-commerce and platform teams, to ensure alignment on integration points and shared infrastructure.
- • Review code and share engineering best practices to maintain high code quality and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
- • Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks and production issues in high-traffic systems with minimal downtime.
- • Work within two-week sprint cycles, participating in regular planning sessions, retrospectives, and technical discussions.
- • Rotate weekly support duty approximately once every two months to investigate and route technical issues during core business hours; this is not an on-call rotation.
- • Contribute to the modernization of the tech stack by leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, RabbitMQ, gRPC, EF Core, and Dapper in a CI/CD pipeline managed via GitLab.
- • Engage with AI tools in software development workflows to enhance productivity and code quality.
- • Communicate clearly in English for written collaboration and occasional calls with international teammates across time zones.
- • Maintain ownership of technical solutions from design through deployment, making independent decisions while aligning with team and product goals.
- • Demonstrate curiosity by understanding product context and customer needs beyond technical tasks, contributing to product improvements through engineering insights.
- • Adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-moving business environment where regulatory and market conditions in the cannabis retail sector evolve rapidly.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of backend development experience.
- • Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET.
- • Experience building and maintaining production systems with microservices architectures.
- • Strong knowledge of relational databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL).
- • Experience with RabbitMQ or similar messaging systems.
- • Experience working with Redis or other caching solutions.
