📋 Description

• Senior Backend Engineer role focused on building and scaling ClickUp’s AI-powered platform, integrating customer feedback into API tooling and shared services to support mission-critical distributed systems.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and maintaining API governance, owning integrations in the API Gateway layer, improving shared services, and supporting AI initiatives like Brain and Agents through scalable backend infrastructure.
• Part of an agile, scrum-based engineering team at ClickUp, an AI-native company unifying tasks, docs, chat, calendar, and enterprise search with context-driven AI, where AI fluency is expected and evaluated.
• Opportunity to grow expertise in distributed systems, API design, database tuning, observability, and AI-enabling platform technologies while impacting core capabilities used across engineering teams.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Strong understanding of API standards, design approaches, and integration patterns
• Proficient with TypeScript and Golang
• Prior high-scale experience with Postgres, MySQL, or another relational database, including tuning and infrastructure
• Strong operational background with Datadog, Honeycomb, OpenTelemetry/Prometheus/Grafana/etc.
