- • Senior Backend Engineer role focused on designing and operating the distributed execution engine for Taktile's automated decisioning platform, where you'll build critical systems that power real-time credit and risk decisions for banks and fintechs.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include building and operating backend services in Python on AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora), tackling latency and reliability challenges, owning systems end-to-end from architecture to incident response, making key architectural decisions, mentoring teammates, and collaborating with Product and Design to shape future features.
- • Join a small, high-impact engineering team at Taktile Technologies Inc., a startup backed by Y Combinator, Index Ventures, and Tiger Global, with offices in Berlin, London, and New York, where engineers from Google, Amazon, and Meta collaborate to build the world's leading platform for automated decision-making in financial services.
- • In this role, you'll gain deep expertise in scalable backend systems, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native development while having real authority over technical decisions, mentoring opportunities, and access to a global network of tech investors and advisors for professional growth.
🎯 Requirements
- • At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience with 2+ years in a senior capacity leading complex projects
- • Deep expertise in Python and building backend systems on AWS cloud platforms
- • Strong system design skills with ability to make and defend architectural trade-offs
- • Depth in at least one area: data pipelines/storage, event-driven architectures, caching/performance, or serverless systems
- • Strong communication and collaboration skills to align technical and non-technical stakeholders
- • Ability to work in a hybrid model from Berlin HQ, London office, or Iasi hub
