- • As a Senior Behavioral Scientist at BetterUp, you will be at the forefront of transforming how the world's leading companies invest in their people. This is not a typical post-sale support role; it's a high-trust, high-impact leadership position focused on driving deep, lasting human transformation within our client organizations. You will partner directly with executives at top-tier companies, co-creating and shaping human capital strategies that unlock performance, culture, and growth. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring clients achieve and recognize tangible value from their BetterUp investment, acting as a driver of strategic clarity, executive alignment, and long-term outcomes.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to design and own the end-to-end measurement strategy for each client, meticulously aligning it with their purchased solution and stated business outcomes. This involves translating complex solution capabilities into defensible success metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and leading indicators of impact. You will ensure that these measurement frameworks are not only statistically sound and scalable but also directly aligned with client decision-making processes. A critical component of this will be building rigorous Return on Investment (ROI) models and business cases that quantify the financial and organizational impact of BetterUp's solutions, providing concrete evidence of value.
- • You will collaborate closely with Sales and Enterprise teams, embedding these powerful impact narratives into deal strategies and late-stage sales motions. This strategic involvement ensures that the value proposition is clearly articulated and supported by data from the outset. Furthermore, you will be responsible for producing executive-ready materials that directly support deal expansion, renewal, and upsell conversations, demonstrating ongoing value and fostering deeper partnerships.
- • A significant part of your role will involve leading advanced data analysis to uncover meaningful patterns, causal signals, and key outcome drivers across diverse client datasets. You will move beyond descriptive analytics to generate actionable insights that explain *why* certain outcomes are occurring and provide clear recommendations on *what* to do next. This analytical rigor will be underpinned by a commitment to scientific integrity, ensuring that all findings are validated against scientific standards for credibility and repeatability.
- • You will be a master of data storytelling and executive communication, developing high-impact narratives that translate complex analyses into clear, compelling insights for senior leaders. This includes creating and delivering Business Value Reviews that vividly demonstrate measurable value realization. Your ability to influence senior client stakeholders will be paramount, connecting data-driven findings directly to their strategic priorities and operational decisions, thereby solidifying BetterUp's position as a trusted advisor.
- • In ensuring client value realization and retention, you will act as a core partner, proactively identifying any risks to achieving desired outcomes and recommending evidence-based course corrections. By strengthening client trust and fostering long-term partnerships through credible, outcome-focused storytelling, you will contribute directly to client success and retention.
- • As the internal authority on scientific rigor, you will uphold the validity and ethical standards of all measurement and analytics work. You will safeguard the credibility of BetterUp's science in both client-facing and internal contexts, ensuring that our approach is always grounded in robust research and best practices. Your pattern recognition skills, coaching mindset, and high bar for strategic execution will be applied to every engagement, ensuring consistent quality and impact.
- • This role demands agility and comfort with ambiguity, allowing you to adapt and adjust to market dynamics, organizational changes, and quickly shifting priorities. You will leverage your exceptional communication skills to craft and deliver narratives that resonate deeply, moving hearts and minds. A bias for action and a drive to make things better, not just get them done, are essential qualities for success in this dynamic environment. You will bring a mindset rooted in outcomes, ownership, and a commitment to long-term impact, contributing to BetterUp's mission of transforming the world of work.
- • You will be part of a hybrid work model, expected to collaborate in person from one of our office hubs (Austin, TX; New York City, NY; Chicago, IL; San Francisco, CA; or Washington, DC metro area) at least two days per week, fostering strong team connections and in-person strategic alignment when necessary. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend deep scientific expertise with strategic business impact, driving meaningful change for some of the world's most influential organizations.
