• • **What the role is and why it matters:** As a Senior Billing & Accounts Receivable (AR) Analyst at Fivetran, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of our global billing operations. This role is pivotal in maintaining strong cash flow, reducing billing exceptions, and enhancing customer satisfaction by resolving disputes swiftly and accurately. Your contributions will help Fivetran scale its operations while maintaining financial integrity and compliance.
• • **What the person will do day to day:**
• • **Own Billing Operations:** Execute billing cycles, ensuring timely and accurate invoice creation, distribution, and corrections within the ERP system (NetSuite). Manage billing adjustments, credit/debit memos, chargebacks, and maintain detailed billing logs and audit trails to ensure transparency and compliance.
• • **Payment Application & Reconciliation:** Apply customer payments (electronic, wire, checks, cards) with precision, reconcile payments to invoices and bank statements, and maintain high cash application accuracy. Perform periodic AR sub-ledger reconciliations and support month-end and quarter-end close tasks to ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
• • **Collections & Dispute Management:** Support collections activities by conducting aging analysis, dunning, customer follow-ups, and escalating delinquent accounts as needed. Investigate and manage customer billing disputes, coordinating cross-functionally with Sales, Deal Desk, Order Management, and Revenue Accounting to resolve issues efficiently and maintain positive customer relationships.
• • **AR Reporting & KPIs:** Develop and maintain AR reporting and key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), aging buckets, unapplied cash, and dispute backlog. Deliver regular updates to stakeholders to provide insights into financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
• • **Process Improvement & Documentation:** Proactively identify process inefficiencies and partner with technical and business teams to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and tighten financial controls. Maintain strong internal controls, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), runbooks, and documentation to support audits and ensure segregation of duties.
• • **System Enhancements & UAT:** Lead and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for NetSuite, Salesforce, payment gateway integrations, and billing/process enhancements. Author UAT scripts, document defects, and ensure system changes meet business requirements and compliance standards.
• • **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work closely with Order Management, Deal Desk, Revenue Accounting, and Collections teams to ensure invoices are accurate, payments are applied correctly, and customer queries are resolved quickly. Support knowledge transfer and documentation activities to ensure team continuity and operational readiness.
