📋 Description

• Lead transportation decarbonization studies for state, regional, and local government clients to develop and implement policies that reduce emissions from transportation systems.
• Support the development and implementation of state Clean Fuel Standards (CFS) and Low Carbon Fuel Standards (LCFS), including analysis of programs such as California LCFS, Washington CFS, Oregon CFP, and New Mexico CFS.
• Conduct quantitative analyses, scenario modeling, and market assessments for renewable fuels including renewable diesel, biodiesel, sustainable aviation fuel, renewable natural gas, hydrogen, and electricity.
• Analyze transportation emissions, fuel demand, fuel supply, technology adoption rates, and infrastructure needs to inform regulatory and program design.
• Develop technical reports, policy memoranda, presentations, and regulatory support documents that translate complex technical findings for government decision-makers.
• Design and facilitate stakeholder engagement processes with government agencies, fuel suppliers, utilities, fleet operators, industry organizations, and environmental groups.
• Stay current on federal and state transportation decarbonization policies, emerging clean transportation technologies, and evolving renewable fuel markets.
• Support proposal development and business development activities by contributing technical expertise to win new client engagements.
• Interact directly with clients to provide trusted advisory services while supervising and mentoring junior staff on project deliverables and analytical methods.
• Evaluate alternative fuel infrastructure planning needs, including charging, hydrogen refueling, and biofuel distribution networks.
• Perform economic, market, and regulatory analyses to assess the feasibility and impact of clean transportation initiatives.
• Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences through written and verbal presentations.
• Manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines across concurrent projects.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, environmental science, transportation, economics, public policy, energy, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional experience in transportation decarbonization, clean transportation policy, renewable fuels, transportation planning, or a related field
• Experience with Clean Fuel Standards, Low Carbon Fuel Standards, renewable fuel markets, or similar transportation decarbonization policies
• Experience conducting quantitative analysis, scenario modeling, or policy analysis
• Project management and client-facing experience
