• • As a Senior Counsel, IP, you will be instrumental in defending Coinbase against high-stakes intellectual property disputes, including patent litigation. Your strategic insights will be crucial in developing robust defense strategies to protect the company's interests in a rapidly evolving legal landscape.
• • Beyond defense, you will actively contribute to shaping Coinbase’s patent portfolio strategy. This involves working closely with our innovators to identify and harvest new inventions, creating compelling content for inventor education and outreach programs, and managing the entire patent preparation and prosecution lifecycle.
• • You will oversee the work of outside counsel, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in patent filings and prosecution. Furthermore, you will be responsible for developing and implementing analytical tools and processes designed to optimize Coinbase’s patent portfolio, ensuring it aligns with our business objectives and provides maximum strategic value.
• • Your role will extend to performing critical IP due diligence for potential transactions and providing expert legal advice on IP-related transactional matters. This requires a keen understanding of intellectual property rights and their implications in business dealings.
• • We expect you to engage in thought leadership within the IP space, proactively advising on legislative and judicial developments that could impact Coinbase and the broader crypto community. This includes staying abreast of emerging legal trends and their potential ramifications.
