- • Serve as legal point of contact and subject matter expert for StreetEasy and New Construction business lines, supporting product development lifecycle including design, marketing, vendor contracts, data privacy, and terms of use
- • Embed with business partners to provide tactical legal counsel for special projects, pilot programs, and strategic initiatives
- • Proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams (privacy, fair housing, finance, compliance, licensing, marketing) to resolve novel legal matters in product development
- • Analyze legislative changes impacting products and work with government relations and product teams on implementation plans
- • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including key strategic partnerships
- • Collaborate with internal partners such as other product attorneys, privacy, finance, tax, risk management, and information security and compliance
- • Zillow Group Legal and Compliance Department is a collegial, innovative team within a fast-paced tech, real estate, and media company
- • Opportunity to develop expertise in real estate tech product support, creative problem-solving, and building strong relationships with clients and colleagues
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of relevant experience with a national or regional law firm or in-house legal department, preferably at a tech company
- • JD with active state bar admission
- • Experience with licensing, marketing, intellectual property, and commercial agreements
- • Experience with real estate regulatory frameworks, the New York real estate market, and the national builder landscape preferred
- • Aptitude for innovative and goal-oriented problem solving
- • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with ability to persuasively advise on legal implications and risk
- • Outstanding attention to detail, proactive work ethic, and top-notch drafting and negotiation skills
- • Project-manager approach to ownership of projects and ability to create clarity from ambiguity
- • Team-first attitude with demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and levels to develop consumer-centric, leading-edge solutions
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary range of $160,900.00 - $257,100.00 annually in select states (CA, CT, MD, MA, NJ, NY, WA, DC)
- • Base salary range of $152,900.00 - $244,300.00 annually in other states (CO, HI, IL, MN, NV, OH, RI, VT)
- • Eligibility for equity awards based on experience, performance, and location
- • Employees will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in their state of residence
