- • Senior Customer Success Manager at PitchBook, a Morningstar company, plays a strategic role in driving retention, expansion, and deep product adoption for high-value clients in Japan’s competitive financial data market. This role is critical to sustaining long-term client relationships and ensuring PitchBook’s platform delivers measurable value to private equity, venture capital, and corporate finance professionals.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include acting as the primary product expert for a dedicated portfolio of strategic accounts, onboarding new clients with tailored training sessions (including in-person), conducting formal business reviews to assess renewal probability and goal achievement, and proactively identifying opportunities to increase engagement with underutilized product features. The role requires consistent use of Catalyst and Tableau to log interactions, monitor usage trends, and manage tasks, while documenting all client touchpoints to enrich customer health insights. Regular collaboration with Account Managers ensures alignment on retention and growth strategies, and the manager advocates for clients by analyzing health data to surface trends and improvement opportunities. Additional duties include crafting personalized outreach via email and Highspot-provided materials, participating in company-wide initiatives, and modeling PitchBook’s values of curiosity, collaboration, and people-first engagement.
- • The Customer Success team at PitchBook operates within a highly collaborative, innovation-driven culture that values in-person connection, continuous learning, and bold experimentation. As part of Morningstar, the company invests heavily in mentorship and development programs, fostering an environment where curiosity is rewarded and failure is seen as a step toward excellence. The Tokyo-based team benefits from global resources while maintaining local market expertise, enabling them to serve clients with both deep product knowledge and nuanced understanding of Japan’s PE/VC landscape.
- • In this role, you will develop advanced expertise in financial data platforms, client lifecycle management, and consultative relationship building within the private equity and venture capital sectors. You’ll sharpen your strategic thinking by aligning product usage with client business outcomes, enhance your data fluency through hands-on use of Catalyst and Tableau, and grow as a trusted advisor who influences both client success and internal product direction. Success here means becoming a pivotal link between PitchBook’s innovative offerings and the evolving needs of Japan’s most sophisticated financial institutions.
