📋 Description

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of client-facing analytics, building and maintaining Looker dashboards and reports used in Quarterly Business Reviews and ad hoc client requests.
• Partner directly with the Customer Success team to translate business questions into analytical frameworks and deliver insights that strengthen client relationships and drive retention.
• Design and maintain production-quality LookML models, explores, derived tables, and parameterized dashboards in Looker, serving as the team’s primary Looker subject matter expert.
• Write complex SQL queries across Redshift, Aurora/MySQL, and Athena to extract, transform, and analyze large-scale datasets, optimizing for performance and accuracy.
• Develop Python scripts and Jupyter notebooks for data wrangling, automated reporting, and analytical workflows that extend beyond SQL capabilities.
• Actively leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate query writing, code generation, data exploration, and documentation in daily analytics tasks.
• Identify and champion AI-powered enhancements to analytics workflows, including automated anomaly detection, natural-language summarization of data, predictive insights for client reporting, and AI-assisted QBR narrative generation.
• Proactively explore data to surface trends, anomalies, and opportunities without being prompted, forming hypotheses and presenting actionable recommendations with clear business context.
• Define and monitor data quality metrics for all client-facing reporting to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across deliverables.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to define data model requirements, validate pipeline outputs, and improve the analytical data layer’s reliability and structure.
• Document reporting logic, data definitions, and analytical methodologies to enable self-service access and knowledge sharing across Customer Success, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to the evolution of BI governance practices, including LookML version control, naming conventions, dashboard ownership, and reporting standards.
• Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, tailoring depth and framing for Customer Success teams, clients, and senior leadership.
• Deliver recurring client reporting (e.g., QBRs, performance dashboards) that directly impact client satisfaction, retention, and strategic decision-making.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the business context behind key metrics, connecting data patterns to outcomes in chronic disease management, employer health plans, and pharmacy benefit operations.
• Stay current with emerging AI tools and techniques in analytics, experimenting with new approaches to improve efficiency, insight generation, and client value.
• Work in a high-growth startup environment where ownership, initiative, and cross-functional collaboration are essential to driving impact.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in a data analyst, analytics engineer, or BI-focused role
• Deep expertise in Looker, including strong command of LookML: building and maintaining models, views, explores, derived tables, and parameterized dashboards
• Expert-level SQL: complex joins, window functions, CTEs, subqueries, and query performance tuning
• Strong Python skills for data analysis, scripting, and automation
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development and analytics tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor)
• Strong appetite for integrating AI into analytics workflows and actively seeking opportunities to automate or enhance analysis with AI
