Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior Data Analyst at Tava Health, you will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into strategic insights that directly impact the delivery of behavioral healthcare services, enabling the company to scale access to mental health support for employees and communities nationwide.
- • You will partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and actionable, helping Tava make informed decisions that drive growth, improve clinical outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency in a mission-driven, high-growth startup environment.
- • Become a subject matter expert on Tava’s data ecosystem, including clinical, operational, and business datasets, and champion data literacy and best practices across departments to foster a culture of informed decision-making.
- • Lead data governance initiatives by auditing, deprecating, and optimizing reports and dashboards; proactively manage schema changes and data source updates to prevent reporting disruptions and ensure data reliability.
- • Design, build, and maintain high-quality analyses and interactive dashboards using BI tools (with preference for Metabase) that translate complex datasets into clear, tailored recommendations for executives, clinicians, product teams, and operations staff.
- • Partner with clinical and product teams to analyze therapy utilization, engagement metrics, and provider performance data to uncover insights that improve client-therapist matching, treatment efficacy, and patient satisfaction.
- • Collaborate with engineering, finance, marketing, and HR to integrate data from multiple sources, enabling holistic views of business performance and supporting cross-functional initiatives like pricing strategy, retention programs, and provider network optimization.
- • Contribute to strategic planning cycles by providing data-driven forecasts, scenario analyses, and KPI tracking that inform resource allocation, product roadmaps, and go-to-market strategies.
- • Challenge assumptions and refine analytical approaches by asking critical questions — ensuring the team is solving the right problems and avoiding misleading correlations or superficial interpretations.
- • Effectively communicate technical findings, trade-offs, limitations, and timelines to non-technical stakeholders through compelling storytelling, visualizations, and presentations that drive alignment and action.
- • Mentor junior analysts and promote adoption of modern analytics practices, including version control, documentation, and reusable data models, to elevate the overall quality and scalability of the analytics function.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Analyst or in a closely related analytical role, with a proven track record of delivering impactful insights.
- • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering); a Master’s degree may be substituted for two years of experience.
- • Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, window functions, CTEs, and performance optimization for large datasets.
- • Hands-on experience managing and developing reports and dashboards in BI platforms, with strong preference for Metabase familiarity.
- • Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities, capable of translating technical findings into clear, persuasive narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- • Demonstrated ability to influence business strategy through data — identifying opportunities, recommending actions, and measuring the impact of changes on key performance indicators.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary combined with stock options, allowing you to directly share in Tava Health’s long-term success and growth.
- • Fully employer-paid medical and dental insurance premiums for you and your dependents, supplemented by voluntary vision, life, and disability insurance options.
- • Complimentary access to Tava’s own mental health platform for you and your household, including therapy sessions and wellness resources at no cost.
- • Monthly Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions for eligible employees enrolled in high-deductible health plans.
- • Generous paid time off (PTO), paid company holidays, and paid parental leave to support work-life balance and family needs.
- • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching to help you build long-term financial security.
- • Weekly catered lunch via DoorDash and a complimentary DashPass subscription for convenient meal delivery.
- • Opportunity to work remotely with a mission-driven team dedicated to expanding access to behavioral healthcare and improving mental health outcomes at scale.
