Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end design, build, and optimization of enterprise-grade data analytics solutions on the Microsoft Azure stack. You will translate complex business questions into scalable data pipelines, lakehouse architectures, and self-service BI products that empower Fortune-1000 clients to make faster, smarter decisions.
- • Partner directly with client stakeholders—from C-suite executives to data-savvy analysts—to elicit requirements, define KPIs, and create data stories that drive measurable ROI. Expect to lead discovery workshops, white-boarding sessions, and iterative demos that keep every sprint laser-focused on business value.
- • Architect and implement medallion-style lakehouses (Bronze → Silver → Gold) using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse or Microsoft Fabric. You will establish ingestion patterns, apply data-quality gates, and enforce governance policies that ensure every dataset is trustworthy, discoverable, and performant at petabyte scale.
- • Engineer robust ETL/ELT workflows that blend streaming and batch sources, leveraging PySpark, SQL, and Delta Live Tables for incremental processing. You will tune clusters, optimize partitioning strategies, and automate anomaly detection so that downstream analytics stay fresh and accurate—even as data volumes triple.
- • Model dimensional schemas (Kimball methodology) that balance query speed with storage cost. You will craft slowly-changing dimensions, conformed facts, and star schemas that power executive dashboards, ML feature stores, and ad-hoc self-service exploration—all while documenting lineage in Azure Purview.
- • Champion DevOps best practices: version-control notebooks in Git, build CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, and enforce automated testing (dbt, Great Expectations). You will package infrastructure as code (ARM/Bicep/Terraform) so that environments spin up in minutes, not days.
- • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and client staff. You will conduct code reviews, run lunch-and-learns on new Fabric features, and create reusable accelerators that shorten delivery timelines across the entire Data Analytics Data Platform (DADP) practice.
- • Continuously scan the Azure roadmap and Microsoft Ignite announcements for emerging capabilities—like Mirrored Databases, Copilot in Fabric, or Real-Time Analytics—then run POCs that translate hype into production-ready solutions for our North American client portfolio.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional squads (data scientists, app developers, cybersecurity) to embed analytics into customer-facing products. Your pipelines will feed ML models that predict churn, optimize supply chains, and personalize user experiences in real time.
- • Measure and communicate success through SLAs, data-quality scorecards, and adoption metrics. You will present quarterly business reviews that quantify cost savings, revenue lift, and decision-velocity gains—turning technical achievements into executive-level success stories.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–5 years of hands-on data engineering experience, including deep expertise in the Microsoft Azure analytics ecosystem (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, and/or Microsoft Fabric)
- • Proven mastery of data warehouse and lakehouse design patterns—medallion architecture, dimensional modeling (Kimball), and ETL/ELT best practices
- • Strong SQL skills plus growing proficiency in Python for data transformation and orchestration
- • Demonstrated success implementing DevOps and CI/CD for analytics workflows (Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Infrastructure-as-Code)
- • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; prior consulting experience preferred
🏖️ Benefits
- • 100 % remote-first culture with flexible hours and generous vacation / flex-time-off programs so you can design a schedule that fits your life
- • Comprehensive benefits package: Health, Vision, Dental, Life, Short- & Long-Term Disability, 401(k), and Health/Dependent Care FSA
- • Continuous learning budget for certifications, conferences, and hands-on labs—plus paid time to study and sit for Azure exams
- • Opportunity to work with large, sophisticated, and progressive clients across North America, tackling high-impact analytics challenges that move the needle
