Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Build and scale production-grade data pipelines for ingestion into Snowflake, ensuring reliability and performance for a $750M+ e-commerce business.
- • Design and ship agentic systems that automate data engineering tasks including pipeline generation, testing, and maintenance — creating self-sustaining infrastructure rather than one-off builds.
- • Develop and maintain ML pipelines that enable data scientists to operationalize models and integrate them seamlessly with core data infrastructure.
- • Implement and improve data monitoring across complex, multi-system user journeys to ensure data quality and system integrity.
- • Collaborate with Analytics Engineers to refine data modeling and enhance the reliability of shared data assets used across the organization.
- • Partner with product, analyst, and machine learning teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions — from raw data ingestion through advanced analytics and AI-driven applications.
- • Own the architecture of AI-native tooling and platforms that empower data engineering workflows, including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and tool integrations like MCP servers.
- • Leverage Python and production-grade data engineering practices to build scalable systems that support high-velocity decision-making across product, operations, and AI teams.
- • Utilize Airflow and dbt to implement robust ETL principles and data modeling, going beyond tool usage to understand underlying data flow and transformation logic.
- • Provision and manage cloud data resources on AWS, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and EKS, to support scalable and secure data infrastructure.
- • Work cross-functionally with analysts and data scientists to translate their analytical needs into robust, maintainable data infrastructure that serves real business use cases.
- • Stay ahead of emerging AI capabilities and integrate them proactively into daily workflows — using AI not as an experiment but as an expectation to accelerate output and reduce busywork.
- • Contribute to a data infrastructure that is already solid and reliable, with the mandate to extend, automate, and future-proof it during a pre-IPO growth phase.
- • Influence how a 9M+ user platform scales its data systems to support expansion into Babylist Shop, Babylist Health, Babylist Money, and other ecosystem initiatives.
- • Operate in a remote-first environment where AI is embedded in daily work, with access to leading tools like Claude and ChatGPT from day one.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience building production-grade data engineering systems at scale
- • Proven experience building production AI/LLM systems including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and tool integrations (e.g., MCP servers)
- • Deep fluency in Python and production data engineering practices
- • Proficiency with Airflow and dbt, including understanding of data modeling and ETL principles
- • Hands-on experience provisioning and managing AWS cloud resources (EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS)
- • Familiarity with Snowflake or comparable modern cloud data warehouses
🏖️ Benefits
- • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
- • Retirement savings plan with company matching and flexible spending accounts
- • Generous paid parental leave and PTO
- • Winter Wonder Week: company-wide paid week off at year-end
- • Remote work stipend to set up your office
- • Perks for physical, mental, and emotional health, parenting, childcare, and financial planning
