- • Design, build, and optimize scalable big data pipelines using structured and semi-structured data to support AI, BI, marketing, customer success, and data science initiatives.
- • Lead the development and maintenance of PAR’s enterprise big data platform, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability for critical business intelligence and machine learning products.
- • Collaborate closely with Machine Learning, Software Engineering, and Product teams to translate business requirements into robust data solutions that serve both internal stakeholders and external clients.
- • Implement data ingestion, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) workflows using PySpark and Spark Streaming within a Lakehouse architecture.
- • Leverage Databricks as the core platform for data processing, orchestration, and analytics, ensuring seamless integration with cloud-based data sources and sinks.
- • Utilize AWS and Azure cloud technologies to deploy, monitor, and optimize data infrastructure, including storage, compute, and networking components.
- • Manage relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL systems (MongoDB) to support diverse data storage needs across the organization.
- • Integrate streaming data from Kafka into real-time analytics pipelines to enable timely decision-making and operational responsiveness.
- • Establish and enforce data governance policies, including data versioning, lineage tracking, and quality controls to ensure trust and compliance.
- • Partner with infrastructure and operations teams to monitor system health, troubleshoot pipeline failures, and improve resource efficiency.
- • Apply AI tools to automate routine data engineering tasks, generate insights from datasets, and accelerate reporting cycles to enhance engineering productivity.
- • Maintain version control practices using GitHub for all data pipeline code, ensuring traceability, collaboration, and CI/CD alignment.
- • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
- • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, providing actionable recommendations based on data findings.
- • Travel occasionally for business meetings, client engagements, or cross-team collaboration sessions.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer developing scalable big data solutions
- • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- • Demonstrated expertise in data modeling and SQL within a Lakehouse architecture
- • Extensive experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms
- • Advanced proficiency in Python, Java, PySpark, Spark Streaming, Databricks, Kafka, and big data technologies
- • Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL systems (MongoDB)
