- • Join Farseer Inc. as a Senior Data Engineer and play a pivotal role in constructing the foundational data platform for our revolutionary enterprise software stack. - • In this greenfield opportunity, you will be instrumental in shaping our data platform from the ground up. This is not about maintaining existing infrastructure; it's about architecting and building a scalable, robust system that will power Farseer's future growth. You will focus on two key areas: building data pipelines for real customers and contributing to the development of the data platform itself.
- • For customer implementations, you will be responsible for extracting data from diverse sources including ERP systems, databases, APIs, and spreadsheets. You will meticulously transform and validate this data, ensuring its accuracy and integrity before it enters Farseer's sophisticated calculation engine. A critical part of this process involves generating UAT reports that demonstrate the precise alignment of data with its source systems. You will collaborate directly with client finance and IT teams, gaining a deep understanding of their unique data landscapes and requirements. Each successful implementation will not only serve our clients but also contribute to the platform's evolution, making subsequent integrations faster and more efficient.
- • Concurrently, you will contribute to the core data platform architecture and development. This involves designing and building the infrastructure that enables scalability and reliability. Key components you will help develop include declarative pipeline definitions, robust schema validation mechanisms, a reusable connector library, efficient orchestration systems, comprehensive freshness monitoring, proactive alerting, and eventually, a customer-facing user interface for monitoring dataset health. This is a chance to make an outsized impact on a small, growing team, influencing the direction and technical choices of a critical platform.

🎯 Requirements
- • Production-quality Python development experience.
- • Meaningful experience building data pipelines or data platform infrastructure (extraction, transformation, validation, loading).
- • Comfort working directly with clients to understand systems, discuss data requirements, and present results.
- • Understanding of the data platform problem space, including orchestration (e.g., Dagster, Prefect, Airflow), extraction frameworks (e.g., DLT, Airbyte, Fivetran), data validation (e.g., Great Expectations, Soda), and columnar formats (e.g., Parquet, DuckDB, Arrow).
- • Experience navigating cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS) and running systems in production (monitoring, alerting, debugging).
- • Familiarity with using AI tools (e.g., LLMs) to enhance productivity in coding, debugging, or prototyping.
