Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Build and scale production-grade data pipelines for ingestion into Snowflake, supporting a $750M+ e-commerce business with reliability and high performance.
- • Design and ship agentic systems that automate data engineering tasks including pipeline generation, testing, and maintenance — creating self-sustaining infrastructure rather than one-off builds.
- • Develop and maintain ML pipelines that enable data scientists to operationalize models and integrate them seamlessly with the company’s data infrastructure.
- • Implement and improve data monitoring across complex, multi-system user journeys to ensure data quality and system reliability.
- • Collaborate with Analytics Engineers to refine data modeling and ensure the integrity and reliability of shared data assets across teams.
- • Partner with product, analyst, and machine learning teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions — from raw data ingestion through advanced analytics and AI-driven applications.
- • Own the architecture of AI-native tooling and platform systems that elevate data engineering itself — focusing on scaffolding, harnesses, and agentic workflows that generate and maintain data pipelines autonomously.
- • Leverage AI tools daily in your work, using RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and tool integrations (e.g., MCP servers) to accelerate output and improve system efficiency.
- • Work cross-functionally with data scientists and analysts to translate their analytical needs into scalable, production-ready infrastructure that serves real business use cases.
- • Provision and manage cloud data resources on AWS, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and EKS, ensuring secure, efficient, and cost-effective data operations.
- • Apply deep fluency in Python and production-grade data engineering practices to build systems that operate reliably at scale over 7+ years of experience.
- • Utilize Airflow and dbt with a strong understanding of data modeling and ETL principles, not just tool configuration.
- • Maintain familiarity with Snowflake or comparable modern cloud data warehouses to support scalable analytics and reporting.
- • Contribute to a data infrastructure that is already solid, with the mandate to extend, automate, and future-proof it during a pre-IPO growth phase.
- • Operate in a remote-first environment where AI is embedded in daily workflows, not an experiment — using leading tools like Claude and ChatGPT from day one to eliminate busywork.
- • Influence how a 9M+ user platform scales its data systems during a critical growth period, directly impacting product, operations, and AI initiatives across the business.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience building production-grade data engineering systems at scale
- • Proven experience building production AI/LLM systems including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and tool integrations (e.g., MCP servers)
- • Deep fluency in Python and production-grade data engineering with expertise in Airflow and dbt
- • Proficiency in AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS) and familiarity with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses
- • Experience working cross-functionally with data scientists and analysts to translate needs into infrastructure
- • Genuine, hands-on use of AI tools in daily work, with curiosity and initiative to leverage AI for efficiency and innovation
🏖️ Benefits
- • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
- • Retirement savings plan with company matching and flexible spending accounts
- • Generous paid parental leave and PTO
- • Winter Wonder Week: company-wide paid week off at year-end
- • Remote work stipend to set up your home office
- • Perks for physical, mental, and emotional health, parenting, childcare, and financial planning
