- • Senior Data Engineer role focused on building and evolving streaming data pipelines that power real-time model serving across Kraken's AI infrastructure

- • You will design and build feature stores for low-latency, implement and maintain streaming systems using RisingWave, Apache Flink, or Kafka Streams, partner with ML engineers to define data contracts and pipeline SLAs, drive latency reduction from hours to seconds, ensure data quality and observability, and contribute to inference pipeline tooling at the intersection of data engineering and model serving.
- • The AI Infrastructure team sits at the foundation of Kraken’s agent platform, ensuring reliable, observable, and performant model inference, orchestration, and execution layers under real-world load, operating within a fast-moving, ambiguous environment focused on advancing open finance through modern financial infrastructure.
- • You will gain deep expertise in streaming systems, feature store design, and ML data pipelines while shaping the team’s technical roadmap by evaluating emerging technologies and contributing to production systems that power intelligent agents at scale in a mission-driven fintech/crypto environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years in data engineering with at least 2 years focused on streaming systems in production
- • Hands-on experience with RisingWave, Apache Flink, Kafka Streams, or comparable stream processing frameworks
- • Strong understanding of feature store design — online/offline consistency, point-in-time correctness, low-latency serving
- • Experience building data pipelines that feed production ML models or inference systems
- • Proficiency in Python and/or Scala; SQL fluency required
- • Familiarity with data quality frameworks, pipeline observability, and SLA ownership
