📋 Description

• Senior Data Engineer role focused on building and owning Jane's customer data infrastructure from the ground up, including event pipelines, schema governance, identity resolution, and attribution systems to support scalable, trustworthy data for marketing and product decisions.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and maintaining end-to-end data collection systems, establishing instrumentation standards across engineering and marketing, evaluating and evolving the CDP stack (currently RudderStack), ensuring privacy-compliant tracking in healthcare contexts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align on data quality and attribution.
• Jane Technologies is a founder-led, high-growth SaaS company serving thousands of clinics and hundreds of thousands of practitioners across Canada, the US, and the UK, with a mission to help healthcare providers run their businesses and improve patient outcomes through reliable, impactful software.
• In this role, you will gain deep ownership of foundational data systems, shape long-term data strategy, develop expertise in privacy-compliant instrumentation and identity resolution, and grow as a technical leader influencing cross-functional alignment and system reliability at scale.

🎯 Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science or related STEM field plus 5+ years of hands-on experience as a data engineer or similar, with proven experience building and maintaining event collection, customer data infrastructure, or data pipeline systems in production
• Experience evaluating or implementing Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), including migrating or consolidating existing tooling — greenfield-only experience is not sufficient
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and SQL (required); Python is a strong asset; familiarity with Snowflake, Looker, or similar warehouse and BI tooling is helpful for cross-team collaboration
• Experience with privacy-compliant tracking and consent management, including work with platforms like OneTrust, Cookiebot, or Enzuzo, and designing instrumentation that respects consent state, ideally with server-side tagging or tag management systems (GTM server-side, Tealium, etc.)
• Strong background in schema design, event taxonomy, data quality, identity resolution, attribution, or cross-domain tracking, with a pragmatic approach to solving complex user journey stitching challenges
