📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of data products that surface actionable blockchain intelligence to investigators, compliance officers, and policy makers around the globe. You will architect, build, and scale the pipelines that transform raw on-chain data into the high-signal datasets that power TRM’s flagship products.
• • Design and operate petabyte-scale data infrastructure on AWS using Spark, Airflow, Kafka, and Iceberg to ingest, normalize, and enrich multi-chain data (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Tron, and 20+ others) in near real-time. Your systems must be resilient to chain re-orgs, node outages, and protocol upgrades while maintaining sub-minute freshness.
• • Partner with data scientists, threat analysts, and product managers to translate complex investigative questions into robust data models. Example deliverables include entity clustering algorithms that link 100M+ addresses to real-world actors, risk scoring models that detect sanctioned wallets within seconds of transaction broadcast, and graph algorithms that uncover multi-hop money-laundering schemes.
• • Establish and evangelize engineering best practices across code reviews, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and automated testing. You will mentor junior engineers through pair programming and technical design sessions, raising the bar for data quality, performance, and security across the organization.
• • Build self-service analytics platforms that allow non-technical users to explore blockchain data safely. This includes designing semantic layers, curated data marts, and intuitive APIs that abstract away the complexity of raw chain data while preserving forensic accuracy.
• • Optimize data pipelines for cost and performance, leveraging spot instances, columnar formats, and intelligent partitioning to reduce spend without compromising SLAs. You will monitor and tune queries that scan trillions of rows daily, ensuring 99.9% uptime for mission-critical workloads.
• • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to implement privacy-preserving architectures that meet SOC 2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP controls. Your code will be reviewed by former federal agents and regulators, so rigorous documentation and auditability are non-negotiable.
• • Contribute to TRM’s open-source initiatives and publish technical blogs that share novel approaches to blockchain data engineering. Your work will shape industry standards and influence how the world understands and secures digital assets.
• • Participate in an on-call rotation that supports 24/7 incident response for our government and enterprise customers. You will debug distributed systems under pressure, perform root-cause analyses, and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
• • Stay ahead of the rapidly evolving crypto ecosystem by evaluating new L1/L2 chains, zero-knowledge protocols, and DeFi primitives. You will prototype ingestion strategies for emerging data sources and assess their impact on existing architecture.
