• • As a Senior Data Scientist within the Supply Tech group, your core mission will be to empower our activity providers to deliver exceptional and seamless experiences to GetYourGuide’s customers at scale. This involves building and deploying cutting-edge AI and ML systems designed to curate a trusted, high-quality catalog, elevate content quality using Large Language Models (LLMs) for generation, structuring, and evaluation, and proactively identify high-value inventory to foster marketplace growth in close partnership with our tech and business teams.
• • You will collaborate intimately with fellow Data Scientists, MLOps Engineers, and key business stakeholders, driving continuous innovation to enhance the quality and richness of our marketplace catalog. Our collective goal is to ensure every travel experience booked through GetYourGuide is truly unforgettable.
• • Your primary responsibility will be to develop innovative data products that not only enable our suppliers to delight customers but also significantly contribute to the company's overall success. This is a role where you will take full ownership of projects, guiding them from the conceptualization of the business challenge through to the successful deployment of production-ready code.
• • This end-to-end ownership includes conducting in-depth analyses of large, complex datasets to uncover critical insights, building and maintaining robust, scalable data pipelines, and establishing rigorous evaluation and monitoring strategies. You will also implement in-production guardrails and continuously monitor and optimize data products post-deployment to ensure sustained performance and impact.
• • A significant aspect of your role will involve contributing to the evolution of our machine learning infrastructure. You will play a key part in establishing and refining best practices that will define our future ML capabilities and set new standards within the industry.
• • You will work closely with cross-functional technology and business teams, bringing your unique analytical perspective to bear on complex and exciting challenges. Your ability to translate data-driven findings into strategic recommendations will be crucial for driving business decisions and product development.
• • Furthermore, you will actively support the continuous improvement and growth of our team. This includes participating in recruiting efforts to identify and attract top talent, ensuring we maintain a high-performing and innovative data science function.
• • Your technical toolkit will be central to your success. You should possess 5+ years of hands-on experience deploying ML models into production environments, coupled with a strong theoretical and practical understanding of various ML techniques. Experience in deploying and maintaining these models is a non-negotiable requirement.
• • A strong analytical capability is essential, with a proven ability to transform raw data into actionable insights for business stakeholders. Proficiency in hypothesis testing and familiarity with analytics tools such as pandas/polars, along with SQL/Spark, are expected.
• • Experience with LLMs and Agentic AI is highly desirable. This includes practical experience in production with prompt design, tool use, orchestration frameworks like LangChain, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), evaluator design, implementing guardrails, and utilizing tracing/observability tools.
• • You must demonstrate strong software engineering proficiency in Python. Knowledge of distributed machine learning and computing frameworks, such as Spark, will be beneficial.
• • Crucially, you need to possess strong business acumen, with demonstrable experience in fast-paced business environments and a track record of result-driven work. Your ability to understand business needs and translate them into data science solutions is paramount.
• • Excellent communication skills are vital, enabling you to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• • An advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics) or equivalent practical experience is required.
