• • As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be instrumental in enabling Monzo to make better decisions, faster. We foster a strong culture of data-driven decision-making across the entire organization, emphasizing powerful, real-time analytics and empowering the wider business. Our centralized data infrastructure ensures ease of access, with 90% of day-to-day data-driven decisions supported by self-serve analytics via Looker. This allows data scientists to dedicate their expertise to more complex and impactful business questions and analyses.
• • You will be embedded within cross-functional product squads, working alongside engineers, designers, marketers, and product managers. While belonging to a central data discipline, your primary focus will be on contributing to a specific product area. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve applying your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and data presentation to uncover deep insights into user behavior and product interaction. You will translate these insights into actionable strategies that inform and shape our product roadmap.
• • A key aspect of your role will be to guide and empower product teams in measuring what truly matters. You will initiate and support the running of A/B experiments, continuously driving improvements across all facets of our offerings. Collaborating closely with the finance team, you will contribute to a unified, company-wide understanding of customer lifetime value and the impact of various product features on user profitability. Furthermore, you will liaise with engineers to ensure the continuous collection of relevant data, enabling the production of high-quality business insights.

A commercially minded approach is essential, allowing you to contextualize data within broader business objectives. You should be comfortable with both hands-on analytical work and strategic thinking, capable of stepping back to see the bigger picture.

We value strong collaboration and expect you to be a reliable team player whose colleagues can depend on. Your technical toolkit should include solid proficiency in SQL and a preference for Python. Experience in conducting large-scale A/B experiments is also highly desirable.
• • Monzo is expanding rapidly, and we are hiring for multiple roles across our Data Science teams, covering areas such as Borrowing, Growth, Payments, Fincrime, Wealth, and Core. While specific team allocation occurs post-interview, we aim to match your skills and aspirations to the most suitable role. You will have the opportunity to engage with team members from across our Data Science collectives throughout the interview process, gaining insights into the available opportunities and helping us shape our future together.
• • The interview process is designed to be thorough yet efficient, typically involving a Recruiter Call, an Initial Call, a Technical Interview, and a Final Interview that includes a case study and a collaboration exercise. We aim for an average process duration of 2-3 weeks, always working around your availability.
